[Board/Tactical Game]: Diceland: Space, reviewed by ShannonA (4/5)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9820.phtml

Shannon Appelcline's Summary:

A couple of new sets of Diceland which add a lot to the strategic complexity of the game. All totally standalone, and including a little two-player set which can be a great entry point for the game.

The Yellow Kawangi

Technically, Garthans vs. Muktians allows 2 to 4 players to get started with Diceland: Space, but the Kawangi actually doesn't work well in multiplayer play (and has thus been banned from our local group);

Actually, you're not alone. The Yellow Kawangi is actually banned from all official Diceland tournaments, since it just kills *everything*. Even the Ogre. It's really one of those dice that was made just for fun. (That, and it's a apt representation of it's "Strange Adventures in Infinite Space" counterpart. Jeeze, one hit from that thing, and you're vapor...)

Our problem was actually more with the Kawangi getting killed. Inevitably someone would manage to throw a die up next to it so that it couldn't turn, shoot the Kawangi, and it was instant game-over.

I haven't played this game yet, but it sounds like the Kawangi would be more useful as a part of some scenario, something that would be run by a referee or by both players that would mess with both sides.
