How is the game doing in your area?

So how successful is D&D Miniatures in your local area? Lots of people playing?

Anyone have some industry info about how many units Hasbro is selling?

In my area there is about a six people playing the game. Not bad for a small store in a small town. The bigger games at the store are Mechwarrior and Confrontation.

I don't know how many people are useing the mini's game, but the boosters are selling well.

I had hard time trying to find an entry pack where I live.

Store could only get 4, sold out

The shop I went to only got in 4 starter boxes and hadn't been able to get anymore last I knew. On the other hand they were waiting to see how well they went before they put a lot of money/shelvespace into them.

Some of the ones I got in my box were just as good of sculpts as the metal mini's and at least one of the uncommons were better then the rare I got. (a centar)

I picked up a starter and two boosters at the local shop last Friday and the manager said they can't keep it on the shelf.

Highest point cost ...

In my limited experience (one entry and two boosters) there is at least one figure with a point cost above 50. The medusa (49/80) costs 62 points.

Miniatures Handbook and distribution ...

The MSRP of the Miniatures Handbook is $29.95.

I'm pretty happy with the distribution so far. I've picked up one entry and two boosters and only had 3 doubles and enough figs to make a LE and CG warbands.

Well, the minis are selling very well

But those who buy them are moaning because no one is playing the game...

Essentially what we have around here is a few people sucking up all the minis and then playing "101 Uses For Another Freakin' Fire Drake"

As far as I can tell, a couple of the folks are using the minis for their D&D games, but most are just in the same COLLECTION FEVER! that strikes M:tG and Yu-Gi-Oh fans -- Must Have Them All At Any Cost

Hasbro will be happy, but gaming has taken a giant step sideways...

Your lucky then, between an entry pack and 3 boosters I got 2 tripples, 5 doubles.

MK/HC figs

As a side note, I much prefer the new bases with the ring. Nothing sucks more than having an unplayable Unique Wolverine who has one foot broken off the base. No glueing job I do seems to be strong enough to make the figure clickable.

You can also turn the figs fine without a ring. I do it fine with all of my MW infantry.
