[RPG]: Out For Blood, reviewed by NPC Jeremy (4/5)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9835.phtml

Jeremy Reaban's Summary:

A more monster manual like (though not quite) approach to a vampire sourcebook for d20 than the two previous d20 vampire books, this is quite good if you want a variety of vampires for your game, or want to run a Vampire Slayer style campaign.

Vampire Werewolf?

Converted from Phorums BB System

Is there any benefit/flavor from their "vampire werewolf" over just applying the vampire and werewolf template to the same creature?

In my game, I am just using those two templates to represent the "Wurdalak", the name of which comes from a creature from Serbian folklore, which is essentially a vampire werewolf.

The template actually is called a "Volkadlak".

It's actually close to what you've done. It's pretty much just the "vampyr" template from the book, with the standard lycanthrope template.

The book's "Vampyr" is a bit different than the regular "Vampire", at least when it comes to specific powers and qualities and such. The powers are somewhat similar in basic effects, but the specifics are different. (For instance, it doesn't have "Children of the Night", it has the ability to charm rats & canines)

The Volkadlak also gets "Hypnotic Gaze", which can paralyze a person.

So, to answer your question, yes, but not that much.
