Chips and stones

I still prefer the glass stones. But get them at your local discount department store or craft shop. They're used in fish tanks, flower arranging, etc. All the colors listed are available, and several more.

Cost: $0.96 for 100 stones. This beats pretty much any price I've found anywhere.

The Microchips...

It should be pointed out that the microchips are a direct consequence of the creation of One False Step For Mankind.

After One False Step was released at GenCon, there was a lot of discussion on the Cheapasses mailing list concerning the complexity and cost of finding chips to play the game with. Cheapass has had poker chips available on their website for a while now, but they're rather nice chips, and aren't a very frugal option for those of us looking to play One False Step.

Finally, James Ernest got frustrated with all of the complaints (sorry James!) and said he was going to look into finding an affordable source of chips.

Thus, we now have the option to buy the chips required for (and only in the colors used in) One False Step For Mankind for $7.50, compared to the $100 it would have cost you going through Cheapass before.
