[RPG]: Omega World, reviewed by James Landry (4/5)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/9/9919.phtml

James Landry's Summary:

The finest Polyhedron minigame and the finest d20 product of 2002. Everything is necessary and nothing is extraneous. A miracle of design.

Very well done review of a very well done game. Omega World is the level of excellence this magazine should put out on a regular basis. More nearly stand-alone type stuff like this is what we need in the RPG scene IMO.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone who's read any GW thread on the forums in the past two months knows who wonderful Omega World is. How about you tell us how to find a copy?

From the beginning of the review:

"Omega World appeared in the September/October issue of Dungeon 94/Polyhedron 153"

So, places like hobby shops and bookstores, local or internet, should do the trick, no?

No. Nobody seems to have this, unless you're willing to pay exorbitant prices (as in 50% over cover price) to get it.

Paizo's site claims they have this issue "currently in stock" for $10, assuming the page is up-to-date.

It'd be a bargain at twice the price.

$10 is about 50% over cover, isn't it? I might be willing to pay that in a store if I saw the material for myself and judged it worthwhile, but I'm less comfortable basing it on other peoples' say-so...

$10 is not 50% over cover. Cover price was $8, so $10 is 25% over cover price.

The adventures in the Dungeon side weren't bad either, by the way.

I can't recommend Omega World highly enough. If you bought anything d20 in 2002, then you should buy this, because it will be better than what you got.

Dungeon is $8.00 US?! Wow, I'd always though it was about $6.00.
