Once again, Eden Studios shows that they know how to treat a license well, with gorgeous production values, engaging writing, genre-friendly rules and a wealth of GM resources.

Minor corrections

Post originally by Cam Banks at 2003-12-15 06:05:57
Converted from Phorums BB System

Two things I messed up on when I wrote the review and only realized after I'd submitted it: the sample Episode in the book has 4 Acts, not 3, and the name of my good friend Jim Butcher's popular wizard gumshoe series isn't the Dresden Chronicles, but the Dresden Files.

Mea culpa, etc etc

Cheers,
Cam

Now All We Need is Eden to Make Firefly

Angel has certainly been eagerly awaited.
I've heard nothing but good things on the net and I'm not surprised that Unisystem shines through again.

After having reviewed Unisystem products pretty heavily I have to say these folks make really great game products. Now if we can only get a Firefly RPG from them In the meantime, Angel, Buffy and Armageddon can all be pretty easily tweaked to cover another Whedon classic.

Still not bad for a first review.

You've even managed to sell me the game.

Cheers,

That should make George, Alex and the others happy! Thanks for the compliments, GP.

Differences from Buffy?

I was just wondering if I could get a breakdown of whqat is in this book that isn't in the Buffy book (besides setting details of course). Is there a page out there already with this information?

Angel has Organization rules, a lengthier section of Qualities and Drawbacks which can be used to build any kind of demon or half-demon (or other creature), statistics and backgrounds for Angel's series regulars and supporting cast, some Unisystem conversions for AFMBE, Armageddon and Witchcraft, different character types (Investigator and Champion instead of White Hat and Hero), etc.

I think I mentioned most of them in the review.

Cheers,
Cam

First review? Whoa...

I did a bit of a double-take when I saw that this is your first review, Cam... mainly because it's one of the finest I've read. I do hope Eden keeps you in mind for future review copies. Based on this, you certainly deserve them.
