If I'm not mistaken it's the same as the Red Dwarf System, which means it's a simple 2d6 roll under based system, where stat and skill are point based and only allowed to go so high (to facilitate the low roll variance) the damage system is kind of a light white wolf system based on damage levels which give negative penalties to the wounded. pretty basic, but definitely workable. I'd say take a look at Red Dwarf in your FLGS to see how the system works.

It's actually a 1d6 system, and the rules fit on the character sheet. Hence, 1PG.
Essentially, it's roll under stat+skill. The exact set of stats and skills changes with the specific game.
No stat or skill goes over 3 on its own, so your max is six. 1 is always a success, 6 is always a failure. So why max out a stat+skill combo? The occasional -1 penalty, or -2 for nearly impossible tasks.
Characters are meant to be disposable. If you die, erase a few numbers and start rolling again.
I have a few 1PG games, and I'm suitably impressed. I wouldn't expect such a simple system to be so useful, but we've had a lot of fun with Shriek! in particular.
Oh, and you get around half a dozen one-page scenario outlines with each game. So a typical 1PG is a cover sheet, credits page, character sheet/rules page, GM advice page, and the scenarios. Ten pages or so, depending on ads at the end.

Actually, the revised 1PGs (and subsequent releases) now number around 13 pages. In addition to the pages listed above, there are now six scenarios; a page of extra, genre-specfic rules and a two-sided character sheet in the back.
The extra rules page is specific to the genre. So, for instance, Star Legion: The Game of Space Opera has a sheet of extra rules that cover alien races, psionic powers, etc. Deep7's latest release, Hero Force: Supers Adventure, contains extra rules that cover super powers.

Being an aficanado of super hero games I went to buy Hero Force--is it not available anywhere but Deep7's site? Because your server for the site is not secure, and I'm not buying from an unsecured site.

Tim: At this time, Hero Force is only available for sale via Deep7's web site. I doubt there are plans to make it available on RPGnow, but who knows what the future will bring

<< When is Deep7 going to get a secure server? I'd also like to purchase some things but don't want to over a unsecure link. >>
Unfortunately, I have no idea, Wayne. You'll have to ask Todd or Samantha Downing. I'll direct them here, or you can also inquire on the Deep7 boards (www.deep7.com).

The only non-secure content on the Deep7 site is the nav bar at the top. If you set your browser to not show non-secure items, everything else should show just fine. You can find out more about our Thawte SSL certification at this address: http://www.deep7.com/security.html
I would not consider doing business over the web without SSL. In the past 4-1/2 years, we've done many thousands of dollars of sales from our site without incident.
