Shannon,
I'm kind of surprised that in the "Relationship to Other Games" section, you didn't mention "Battle of the Bands," the other game by Third World Games. The gameplays and general "feel" of the games seem relatively similar (although I haven't played either of the Portable Adventures, so I'm going by your reviews).

Have you played BotB? How would you feel the Portable Adventures games compare?

I haven't played Battle of the Bands. I've been told that the gameplay is very similar between the two.

I designed Battle of the Bands as the card game that everyone would want to play...'cause everyone wants to be a rockstar. The game engine is pretty simple but it isn't Old Maid. Once I finalized BotB, I wanted to use the engine for something a little more "gamer-friendly" and came up with the multi-genre Portable Adventures. You have a more options with PA than BotB, as there is much more depth with all of the different genres that we like to play, as opposed to being a rockstar.

I want to say that your (Shannon) reviews for PA have been the best, unbiased, reviews I have seen. You see the flaws, but you understand the basic idea I am trying to convey...and that is worth doing it, for me.
reviews like this help us make sure we don't repeat the same mistakes in upcoming releases.

Thank you for your time with the game!!!

Dan,

Glad you enjoyed the review. I always try to do my best to figure out what a game's intended niche/audience is, then assess it based on that criteria for success. Sounds like I managed that here,

Shannon
