[RPG]: Dice and Dramatics, reviewed by Shane Cubis (4/4)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/10/10052.phtml

Shane Cubis's Summary:

A professional first product from a new author and publishing company. Good for beginners, with enough hints to keep a veteran gamer interested too.

I still can't figure out what this review is of

without googling for the title, this review tells me very little of what the book is about.

Is this a complete rpg?

Is this a supplement for D20?

Is this a guide to roleplaying in generic fantasy?

Why is it meaty?

One of the advantages of the "Purchase this Item!" links that I've slowly been expanding is that you can click through and actually see what the item looks like if we've managed to figure out a link (as is the case here), whether you plan to buy or not.

It's probably just as well you have that link (Good idea by the way).

Of course (and this is constructive criticism by the way), the author could simply have written:

Dice and Dramatics is "A d20 Guide to Better Role-Playing for Beginers and Veterans Alike"

And let me know what the review was going to be about.

I apologise for that. This is my second review, and my first review of a product still available.

Now that the horse has bolted, I can say that it is an ebook which helps players with their roleplaying (as opposed to roll-playing...).

It is available from www.rpgnow.com

DM Tips

Does the book actually use the term "DM Tips" as the review says? If so, is it meant for D&D, specifically?

Dubious Review

Really, it sounds like the author writing glowing praise about his own work. As another thread points out, It doesn't even really say what is being reviewed.

Yes, it's meant for D&D specifically. However, much of it is also generic, and useable in other fantasy settings.

E.T. Smith,

I already apologised for that particular oversight. It was rather stupid of me - basically I forgot to add an introductory paragraph before I submitted it.

I certainyl did not write the book, nor am I affiliated with Ultramyth.

Please, I cant people who purport to be interested in better roleplaying are still banding about this hackneyd term. Can we bury the whole damn thing please?
