Colin,

Thanks for the fantastic review. It was in-depth, thorough and well thought out.

I'd like to address a few things.

PRONUNCIATION
Just to clear things up, "Omlevex" is pronounced OM-luh-vex.

KIRBY BUTTONS
Look verrrrrry closely at the Dehumanizer. He does indeed have a few Kirby Buttons. Hehe.

METAZON
You're certainly correct about Metazon having way too much going on for such a consolidated area. All I can say is that this was entirely intentional.

I based that aspect of the setting on Marvel's Manhattan, which is just way too crowded with superhuman activity to ever be even remotely realistic.

Actually, this is pretty true of DC's Gotham City, Metropolis and Central City too. In essence, comic companies of the era (and largely today as well) didn't worry much about whether or not it would be possible for all these heroes, all these villains and all these different factors to exist within the perameters of one city. They simply wrote stories set in the area and that was that.

So, I tried to follow that way of thinking rather than trying to make Metazon feel realistic. =0)

Again, you wrote a fantastic review. Thanks.

---Cynthia

Does anyone want to talk about how close the conversions are to the other game systems?

LOL!

The term "omlevex" refers to a mineral found primarily in Metazon that came from the comet that exterminated the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. This mineral is the primary cause for superhumans in the world.

Each conversion was created 'whole-cloth', based on the character's description, rather than dryly converting the M&M stats to stats of another system, if that's what you mean.

Actually from what I can tell each system's write-ups were converted from M&M. It certainly appears as though the HERO System write-ups were handled that way. There are few Champions GM's who would give so many characters 16 or 19 DEX scores, for example.

The somewhat strange conversions do not take away from the characters in any fashion, and I'm currently re-statting most of them based on the original conversions and the character's descriptions. Mostly it's just rounding off the irregularities that I have found so far such as the numberious Characteristic issues due to converting.

I know they were whole-cloth conversions, that was mentioned before this thing ever saw print. I was curious what people thought of the assigned stats based on their descriptions, and based on their M& stats.
