Thank you for your review. You raise many good points. I'll address a few here.
Descriptions of sandestins and other creatures, as well as much other material from the Dying Earth has been left out to avoid duplication of the main rules. Although the book is supposed to be stand alone, many of our customers are in fact Dying Earth players who wish to smuggle a bit of Vancean contraband into their d20 games. They would have felt justifiably irritated if we had done a cut and paste job. That said, for our new audience, I accept that such extra detail would have been appreciated. We are addressing this issue by providing, partly at your suggestion, Codicilliary Notes and Errata for the Primer, including more full descriptions of the creatures mentioned and some new ones.

If demand is high enough (we sell all our books) we will produce another Dying Earth d20 supplement with more of the materials you mention.
