Torn Asunder takes the idea of critical hits and runs wild with it, taking it to the extremes of the d20 system. This work makes the most of combats where gamers want their characters to suffer from minor wounds and severe injuries, instead of a simple depletion-healing matrix that the game offers.

Simply style over substance. In today's world of hype and packaging, one should not be suprised that the young and/or undiscriminating are taken in by vapid appearance alone.
However, certain individuals still expect and deliver a higher standard.

The reviews *looks* great. How'd you manage to get the formatting to take?
-------------------------------
It took some time playing with the XHTML code, is all. I had worked out a version of my earlier reviews in Dreamweaver, then I would just cut and paste the code. This version I played with the tables, paragraphs and some minor markup tags. I based it on what is up at my well-hidden website, I just gutted that code and tested it by posting a review, but not submitting it fully.

That sounds like fun...
Only if I could get copies of those pictures they should in military vehicle safety (guys with innards that look coated in mustard) to show my players that love to disembowl their enemies.
Maybe that would cut down on combat... nah, I don't think so.

And here I was worried about my ego getting fed, good thing I can count on you, Hal.

"However, certain individuals still expect and deliver a higher standard."
... and yet your posts are still devoid of anything resembling substance of any sort. Did you actually read the review or did you just automatically assume you wouldn't like it because of your bias against Alex?
I keep hoping that you're going to offer some sort of comment that's actually about the review and not just an attack on the reviewer.
So once again, I put the challenge to you. If you think you can do better, post a review.

I enjoyed reading this review Alex. I'd actually considered this book when I saw it in my FLGS, but passed on it. I'll definitely give it a second look now.
