Thank you for the review. I can hardly fault you for persuading people to buy the Dying Earth RPG as an alternative. A few points:

1. For another, more positive viewpoint, see
http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/10/10222.p
html. A further review can be found at http://www.atfantasy.com/view/435

2. Many of the issues of balance addressed here and in another review are dealt with in an extra document, which also contains more information on summoning and binding chugs and sandestins.

http://www.pelgranepress.com/downloads/Codicillary.pdf

3. We have to be ultra-cautious about Open Gaming content because of our license. If anyone does want to use spell failure tables, or anything else, they should approach us.

4. The latest version of The Excellent Prismatic Spray, no 6, now on sale, contains another take on a d20 version of Dying Earth by Keith Baker, creator of Eberron.

5. If people buy this book we will release more d20 material including creatures and adventures.

We think that the originality of this supplement more than compensates for any issues of game balance. But then we would, wouldn't we?
