I think you summarize my basic viewpiont on Bygone Bestiary succinctly.

As to the "why would anyone ever want to play this?" question, I agree that the long term prospects of playing a lion or a sheep are fairly dubious, but I bet it'd be an amusing one shot.

One stumbling block I found using this book to create chimerical characters is that it doesn't tell you how to assign a Glamour rating.

Fair point. Although, since I was in fact only using the monsters as NPCs, I tended to just arbitrarily assign one.
