The animation may be primitive, but the gorgeous art and lush, ethereal soundtrack bring this devoutly faithful adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands fantasy to life.

The "author" line should read as follows:
H.P. Lovecraft, Edward Martin III, Jason B. Thompson
I'd mentioned this via email to Allan, but I suspect he missed it while preparing for GenCon. I just want to make sure the screenplay writers get credit along with the story's original author.

Hmm... Here's the latest news from the web site:
June 30, 2004
We agree to have Lurker Films produce the next pass at DVDs, handling all the distribution and such. More movie-making!
May 17, 2004
We receive a very large order from a new Distributor, which nearly wipes out our remaining stock. This is good, as we're prepped to reprint the next batch! We have about 100 of the signed-and-numbered limited editions remaining. I had to take the trailer down because the bandwidth was killing us.

Hi Dan:
Another fascinating review! I want to get this baby, soon as they reprint the DVDs. IIRC, our own Greg H. worked on this film, BTW. He's a very nice, and very talented, fellow.

BTW, almost missed this! I didn't realize you reviewed movies too!

I didn't, until now.
(Incidentally, I'll also be reviewing the soundtrack.

I bought my copy at a local comic shop, which apparently got it through the comics distributor Diamond. There may still be copies floating around comic shops or at Diamond.

One minor complaint: the sound didn't seem all that well mixed. There were scenes in which the music strongly overpowered the dialog, to the point that in order to hear the dialog I'd have to turn the volume up so high that the music was almost uncomfortably loud.
Other than that complaint, though, I highly recommend this DVD.
