SANDSTORM!

Hehehe, saw this one on MST3K. The movie itself is gawdawful, has laughter-inducing dubbing, and makes about as much sense as a Polonia Brother's flick. The movie's selling poin, IMHO, is a 15 minute sandstorm scene, which we are supposed to belive happens in a desert, and in reality happens on a 30-yard set. During this lovely outtake... sorry, I meant "travelling sequence", Herc struggles on towards the mountain lair of the owl-things, passing by the same dead tree every 30 seconds or so. Magic, pure magic. Literally a must-see for all B-movie fans.

I know I've seen the Something Weird version on the shelves at the local Borders. Of course, this particular Borders (downtown Minneapolis) is nice because they have a "cult cinema" section that is made up almost entirely of titles from the shockingly-large Something Weird catalog.

Thanks for sharing that sighting with us Johnny!

The local Borders here has recently downsized it's cult section, so that may have something to do with why I haven't seen the SWV there. Then again they have just about EVERY DVD title Alpha Video offers on the shelf!

Simply amazing.

On a sidenote: I believe there's a SWV boxed set that Best Buy carries that has this title in it. I've not seen it in stock in a while, but I think it's called "Cosmic Super Heroes"?

If you can find it I suggest you grab it because you can't beat the price!

Funny stuff, Kester! This series you are doing on old B movies is priceless!
