Dark Ages:Fae

I found this book a great companion to Dark Ages Fae which has a great skeleton for a Faerie game but little room for specifics. GURPS: Faerie is full of the specifics.

Just curious:

I can understand your Average rating for Style. The 3rd edition GURPS format was utilitarian enough to count as a source of Banality to WoD Changelings.

But your review of it's content makes it seem like it did everything you hoped or expected to do at or near the highest calibre of quality you could dream of.

What precisely would have to be done to GURPS Faeries to get you to give it a 4 or 5 rating?

banshees

It also has popular fae animals, and a section what might not be considered a faerie (including banshees (?!), griffins, and other things).

What, does that surprise you? Doesn't the book mention that the word banshee comes from "bean sidhe" meaning "woman of the hills"?

You're right, of course. But it's one of those 'races' ( I know, not really, but I digress) that tend to get thrown in with the crowd.

Not a big problem, and truly accurate, but just a touch surprising when I read it.

Basically, the only reason (upon a month later review) was that it was a lot...but not a LOT. I'm very picky with my 5's, and my 4's as well. 4 needs to blow my socks off, and Faeries--it did a great job. Hence a 3. My 4 or 5 would need more info on the fae, and I admit--probably a lot less GURPS. But that's my baggage. Pick it up if you're looking for info on them.
