[RPG]: Dogs In The Vineyard, reviewed by sandjack (4/4)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/10/10709.phtml

Halsted M. Larsson's Summary:

Dogs in the Vineyard has all the best qualities of an individually-produced RPG but doesn't escape all of its drawbacks. An interesting setting and a fun and innovative new system are, at times, marred by less-than-perfect layout, an informal (and often less than wholly in depth) treatment of a lot of material, and a high learning curve. Ultimately, however, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks: playing a mormon preacher-cowboy has never been so fun!

Good and interesting choice for a first review. I salute that. Also appreciate that you point out both good and bad aspects. I would like to see some actual discussion of the mechanics: you sort of suggest how they work without actually saying how they work.

I agree with Doc Sam. The review was going well, but it seemed to end fairly abruptly.

Is that last sentence/paragraph a theory or do you have some experience to back it up?
