An excellent filler game by Bruno Faidutti, filled with fantasy color, tactical play, and fun bluffing.

Great review

Very nice review of one of my favorite games. I've played two Faidutti games now (the other being Mystery of the Abbey) and I've walked away from both being very impressed by how elegant and deceptively simple his design tends to be. Citadels is one of the faves of my gaming group because of its quickness, its layers, its portability, and ultimately its fun factor.

Thanks again for taking such an in-depth look beneath the box here. When the biggest complaint once can register about a game is the cardstock, it's a good day.

I enjoyed Mystery of the Abbey, but I found Citadels to be a huge drag because of the large amount of down time. Maybe I'm playing with the wrong crowd, but this game takes forever for us to play.

And don't get me started on Fist of Dragonstones
