A review is simply an oppion of a product offered, ergo this is a review. There is certainly fixed content, I talk about what is offered, what I like or do not like, etc. Is it over a specific book? No, how could it be. It is an offering that has in the past offered up some really neat goodies for Christmas, which is you will note I did not partake in this year for some very specific reasons. Which would be a nagative commentary about the offering. My goodness someone offering up opions about a product, service or offering? That strangely sounds like a review.
Secondly if you were familiar with my reviews and commentaries you would realize for me to say anything positive about Palladium Books is a rarity now-a-days. Accusing me for being a shill for Palladium Books is perhaps the dumbest thing I have read in a very long time.

A review exists primarily for a potential customer, who is relatively uninformed about a product, to learn more about that product so he can make a more educated decision about whether to buy it.
This review served that purpose just fine. There's a huge difference between the question, "Would you like to pay $31 for a box of random stuff?" and, "Would you like to pay $31 for one or two books, a piece of artwork, one or two dice bags... etc.?" This review is no more of an 'advertisement' than ANY positive review is.
Were I a Palladium gamer (I am not), this review would give the information I need to decide if I wanted to buy their Xmas pack. So I say: Good review.
RE: I disagree - this is a review, and here's why.

Sure, but it'd have been nice if the review had been more specific as to what exactly is in the package reviewed, for customers to get an idea (eg. a list of specifically what the reviewer had received when he got this special; book names & page counts, descriptions etc.)

Seems to me that he described it pretty well. Palladium is offering a $31 bag of random stuff. You get palladium books, art work, and t-shirts, autographed if you like it. The only thing I would have liked is a link to the website for further reading. A quick google found it, and the website offer states pretty much exactly the same thing, in wordier form. I'm not sure what more you could ask for really.
He states that he liked them in the past, but isn't doing this year because the only books he wants aren't available, so the grab bag wouldn't have anything he wants. Seems fair to me.
And finally, to the comment about how "he must be famous" since he asked about his prevous reviews, according to the record, he's got 100 reviews on site. Not exactly a tiny body of work, so I'd be none too surprised if frequent RPGnet readers haven't seen some of his work already.

The information's there, but it's badly organized. It does remind me of those "one paragraph reviews" you read in the newspaper. RPG.net reviews typically clearly divide the review into sections that are objective (description) and subjective (opinion). This review mish-mashes them together.
Still, it's free and no one has reviewed this product.
