elves and bugbears?

Seems like an odd combo of topics for a book. Is there something that elves and bugbears have in common that makes them worth addressing in a single book? ...other than the fact that Kenzer probably hopes it will sell better than separate books on the two races.

No, not any clear link that is stated except for a couple mentions of conflicts because they often have overlapping turf. I think it mostly has to do with marketing. Putting a protagonist and an antagonist in the same book gives two possible areas of interest for buyers and makes it long enough to warrant a hardcover, which I believe generally sell better.

Still, it is a bizarre choice. Natural or atleast well known enemies would make sense.

It seems so... random.
