Thanks for the review. I've got a print version of the the Hunters & Gatherers game as I had heard that there were some balance issues about the original game that they tried to fix in H & G. So, I've never played the original, but I find H & g to be very balanced.
Anyways, if you're looking for a big online community for Carcasonne, there is a free version online at BrettspielWelt (http://www.brettspielwelt.de/gate/jsp/base/enter.jsp?nation=en&sel=1) which has tons of players. The game download is in German, so look to the English pages on how to switch it to English.
