Mongoose doing Runequest?

This came out of nowhere for me. Anyone know any details on this? What system it will use? Will Glorantha be the setting? Will Issaries be involved? Any new would be appreciated.

Definitely. I'm still blinking in mild confusion

Could be interesting. Not clear if it's D20 or OGL.

It will be neither d20 or OGL (though we may Open it, if there is any interest). Glorantha will be the first setting, but it will not be the last - the RQ system lends itself to so many different settings, and we want to explore a few of them.

Re: Mongoose doing Runequest?

Chaosium is definitely holding onto the rights to the BRP system, and Issaries, Inc. has the rights to Glorantha, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what "RuneQuest" means in this instance.

Equally confusing is the announcement that Mongoose has the rights to use the Tri-Stat system, and their solicitation for ideas on what to do with it.

I loved the first editions of Runequest (1980ish). Are you looking for that "feel" again, or have you been seduced by the pantsy newer material?

There will be no pants in this version of RuneQuest

It is very much the feel we are chasing after.

Click the word "This" in the OP. It should be purple.

I can't believe they're not doing pants. It's like a kick in the teeth to all the old loyal fans who have stood by the game for so long.
