While I am a frequent contributor to the freelance and freelancer section, I hesistate in showing lots of these private commissions I do for folks there. Partly because I'm always harping on the fact that these are "easy". That doing an illustration with storytelling, background, perspective... that's "hard". Then I turn around and do dozens and dozens of these things....
But I love doing character concepts. I do a few for my own games and I do lots for various patrons. I also use a lot of art in my own games, everything from buildings to starships to other artist's characters.
So, I'm going to start this thread and when I do a character commission or two, I'll post it up here, so others might find uses for the art.
I also post a bunch up from my files, so y'all can have more to swipe.
I own all rights to this artwork, but as long as you don't make money off it, I don't mind you using it for your own games. In fact, I hope you do. If you want to make characters and post them on various websites, that is fine. Just, please, give me credit and a link to my website (in the sig below).
With some further ado:
Hey, slipped in my OWN character for a change. This is Mr. Shoal, my PC in the upcoming (tonight debut) Necessary Evil campaign. Mr. Shoal is an Atlantean hybrid, albino with Ice/Water manipulation powers. And not a very nice guy in general... hey... gotta play villains for this game!
And here is another mystic (seems to be a plethora of them lately), but a villain named Tyros the Conqueror. I think this is "Hawksmoor" commission, but while I know the patron's real name, I won't divulge it here. And I'm not sure if the patron and Hawksmoor are one and the same. Maybe he'll answer that and any questions about the pic.
And some more art:
