Weapons of the Gods is a great game of wuxia fun set in an imaginatively rendered mystic China - it's not at all dependent on the comic for which it is named, and is recommended to all fans of kung fu and wuxia.

And based on the PDF, should be more than worth it.
I plan on buying several copies (and/or tricking players into doing so) - it'll be much easier if every player has access to their loresheets. Of course, this is where PDF comes into it's own - you can just print off whatever Lores your character knows and put them in a binder.

Heh. I actually picked up 5 copies at GenCon (one for self, the rest for friends). Man, that was a schweeeeeet deal. Excellent looking game, very unique rules.

Me too. This game looks absolutely awesome and I am glad the review got me to take a look.
I have mostly worked out analytic formulas for the simplified dice poker/lexicographic semiorder ("Lex system"? ) they use in the game. It was surprisingly simple, despite looking complex.

A couple of questions I still have which you may be able to answer, since you've GMed (or WSed) the Classic:
i) How experienced with RPGs were your players? Do you think WotG be a good game for introducing new players to RPGs in general?
ii) My one worry about the system (I have the Book of Wood PDF) is the amount of book-keeping, since every martial artist character has to keep track of the 5 colours of Chi, Joss, damage and Chi Aura usage. Did you or your players find this a problem, or am I worrying unnecessarily?

Very experienced players. I think WotG would make a decent introductory game, though - the systems aren't particularly complex, and the only places where there's a bit of dissonance tend to be where it's different to most games, not problematic in of themselves.
I'd suggest pregens/one shot for new players as an introduction before having them make character creation decisions, though.

My players used dice, beads or scrap paper, and seemed to have no trouble at all; while there's a fair bit to keep track of, only damage ever gets much beyond 5, chi regain and chi aura are usually the same every turn, and the kung-fu costs are fairly simple. By way of comparison, they probably had a slightly easier time keeping track of stuff than in Exalted or D&D, though to be fair they were experienced players and don't have much trouble in those systems either.
