Great job, delor! This is an excellent, comprehensive review.

Having played the game for the first time myself last week, I have to agree with all of your assessments.

I'd just add one other thing: players coming to the game with experience in the CoC RPG may be shocked at how relatively wimpy the monsters can be. Even an aged professor can single-handedly mop the floor with a Gug or a Shoggoth, for example.

And I had to laugh when the card result came up that had the Arkham police department sweeping the town clean of monsters. Yeeeah... somehow, I think avatars of Nyarlathotep are a bit beyond Arkham P.D.'s resources.

[Board/Tactical Game]: Arkham Horror, reviewed by delor (4/4)

Dale Moyer's Summary:

The stars are aligning, and in the unfortunate town of Arkham an ancient entity beyond human imagining threatens to destroy the world as we know it. A small handful or intellectuals, criminals, and misfits must risk their lives and sanity to stop this unfathomable threat.

I have to say, this game rocks. It was incredibly fun each time I played it, and learning the rules really isn't that bad.
