[Board/Tactical Game]: Runebound Second Edition, reviewed by ShannonA (5/4)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/11/11629.phtml

Shannon Appelcline's Summary:

The Runebound game is a very good fantasy adventure game, and this is an excellent example of how to do a great second edition, filled with numerous subtle tweaks to the game which speak of an extra year of testing and refining.

I found the Doom rules pretty essential.

I couldn't find what happens to Event cards when they are resolved. I suppose they get discarded, but does anyone know if that's in the rules?

They came out with special character decks that address the two top problems in the rules: downtime and little player interaction. These decks allow people to directly affect another person's progress by playing events/encounters on them and adding peril to their travels.

For me the game was always semi-cooperative where the end game was all about getting the glory. It is an interesting hybrid of purely cooperative and purely competitive games.
