I find this a more useful book than Advanced Bestiary. The only things I miss from the 3.0 version are the elder scorpion, the half-oozes (as new races, not half beings) and the examples of stacked templates (the Sidhe is cool).

But there is enough new stuff to make up for that- new suggestions on critter creation, the legion and degenerate templates and the new skill features for making hides into constructs or undead come to mind.

I give it a 5 for substance and a 4 for style.
