[RPG]: Secret of Zir'an Core Gamebook, reviewed by C.W.Richeson (2/4)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/11/11850.phtml

Christopher W. Richeson's Summary:

Players who enjoy the idea of a high magic Indiana Jones campaign set in a world on the brink of war will love this setting. The system offers speedy task resolution and gives players opportunities to creatively contribute to the game beyond die results. Unfortunately, a printing problem and a few rules hiccups prevent this from being a perfect product.

World description

Am I the only one who thinks the world is presented in the worst way possibile? Why the obsession, that seems kinda fashionable nowadays, of mixing rules and setting.

It might (though I don't personally feel that way) make for a better read the first time but... then one is supposed to be playing these games, not just reading them. And in play this kind of organization sucks big time. IMO.
