[WoW] So i wwant to grind faction for an undead mount
As a troll, i realize i need Exalted status to get the Undead mount. Now, my understanding is in order to gain status with a faction, you need to do quests, and there are material turnins as well (IIRC, there's a wool cloth quartermaster, for example).
Someone mentioned that the AQ turnins also give you faction, but from what i can tell by looking at Thott, all the turn-ins are in Orgrimmar (though i've seen a Troll commendation officer in TB).
Is the process as follows: "You turn in material and get medals. Give medals to commendation officer, get faction based on the race of the CO you give the medals to."?
If so, where is the undead comendation officer?

Wool? Anywhere where there are lots of humanoids, can't think off the top of my head.
Silk? As above, but when you're ten levels higher - silk doesn't drop of mobs a lvl 29 can regularly take down. And also, because of starting at low Rep with Undercity, grinding to Exalted at lvl 29 will take you forever. The whole Exalted to get a non-racial mount thing is primarily designed for high levels characters.
Just so you know, to get to Exalted with Undercity you need at least 18,000 rep (I think). When you hand in the quest for silk bandages (20 of them) you get one commendation, that gets you 75 Rep. That means you have to do the quest 240 times, which means 4800 silk. You got some spare time on your hands?
A better idea for now is to do every quest you can for someone from the Undercity faction, these will net you more Rep at this stage of the game.

Not true. I find silk drops pretty regularly for my 30 warlock.
I farmed the Satyrs are Night Run (in Ashenvale) for a long time (from 26-30) and silk drops pretty regularly off them. Wool does too.
Now, to turn in commendations for reputation with the undead, you need to go to Undercity. I don't know where the guy is, but he's not in Orgrimmar. You turn the raw materials in at Orgrimmar, and then take the commendations and turn them in in Undercity.
Now, the first time you turn in a raw material to the war supplies guys, you get 10 medals. Then, when you turn in that material again, you get only one medal. You can turn in one medal for 5 rep, or 10 for 75 rep. So... you've got quite a ways to go.

That's not true. There's an Undercity rep in with all the people that will take the goods who you can hand commendations to.
