If you're a fan of pulp adventure from Edgar Rice Burroughs to Indiana Jones, I think you should check out Hollow Earth Expedition. Fight dinosaurs, sock Nazis. What's not to like?

Hi Brannon,
I expect this was supposed to be an RPG review? It sounds like an interesting pulp game.
As this is a playtest review could you talk a little bit about how the game was in play? I've heard good things about HEX before but i've never taken the time to try out one of their games. How does it compare to other Pulp games? Are there mechanics that help bring the genre to life? What about the style points makes the game feel pulpy?

Personally I would like to know a lot more about the game. I'm interested, but since I won't be going to Gen Con, the only way I'll get this is to order blind.
How many pages is the book? About what percentage is dedicated to "rules" and what percent to Setting? How does combat run (tactical or narative)? Is there a sample adventure? What are the character classes? Are they templates, point build, random build?

Page one has a thread with comments from the creator and answers to many of those questions.
I anticipate some folk would also like analysis of those questions from a less partial review standpoint, instead of the publisher pitching the product to potential consumers. That is a good thread though.

Undoubtedly so, but the publisher can answer the basic questions (page count, percentage dedicated to rules, and so on). There are also several comments from Dan Davenport, who says he played in a demo last year. He's likely to be less biased than the reviewer who wrote this (as Brannon Boren is also a writer for the book).
Because the game hasn't been released yet, we probably won't see much in the way of reviews until after Gen Con.
