October 21 RPGnet Minicon [SF Bay Area]

If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, mark your calendar for October 21, because our friends at Endgame are doing it again:

Quote:
Saturday October 21, EndGame along with our sponsors, RPGnet present you with a full day of gaming goodness. We are currently on the hunt for GMs willing to run their favorite games in 4 hour sessions. We have a couple slots available for 6-8 hour games, but they are first come, first serve. The only criteria we have is that 1) The game must currently be in print, and 2) we are really looking for games with more of an Indy bent to them. But, if you like D&D and want to share it with others, that's just great too!

We are mixing things up a little differently than in the past. We have been given some great feedback from our two previous events, so the sessions will run at:

10am-2pm
Lunch
3pm-7pm
Dinner
8pm-midnight.

Plan for up to 6 players per gaming session. There are 5 tables available per time slot, so email now to sign up to run a game! Players, check the current list of scheduled games. (We will update it often as we get closer to the big day.) As we get GM's signed up, we will be posting game's and their time slot. It will be first come, first serve. Players, there will be a $3 fee per time slot, with GM getting store credit for running the game.

We will also make sure there is space for Boardgaming and Card gaming as well. Bring some of your favorite board games to share with other new players!

I am pretty excited about this. Our last two have been big hits, and I think for this one, I am going to try and run a game of Prime Time Adventures with a Shadowrun type story to it. Should be a hoot and a half!

Does Star Wars d20 RCR still count as "in print", what with the new edition coming out in March...?

I've sent in two game submissions. Let me know if you don't receive them.

Hey guys!

Star Wars is indeed vaild. We had someone run it last time, and I don't think it filled. Just FYI.

Jason, I got your games, and they will go up tomorrow when I am at work. Thanks for sending them!

I ran it last time...
(and it did indeed "fill"; my friend who came with me got the last seat. )

But I'll admit, I'm not sure I could pull that hat trick twice...
(a lot of the people we're trying it out for the first time, or looking for a group).

Hey, I think I could make that. Is there a board gaming element to these Minicons, too? If you'd like, I can arrange some demos with Atlas Games - their new pirate coin game, Pieces of Eight, is pretty rad.

What time is the Cats game supposed to end?
Is it just the 10am-2pm session?
Or does it overlap multiple sessions like Burning Empires?

I'd love to try Burning Empires, but midnight is way too late for me, considering I'd then have to drive to a hotel somewhere.

Hi Chris:
Are indie wargames allowed? I've been wanting to demo .45 Adventures. It's a skirmish game right on the border between wargames and rpgs and doesn't take up much table space, so...whaddya think?

Re: October 21 RPGnet Minicon [SF Bay Area]

Novastar - oops, my bad. I think we had walkins that weren't on my "sign-up" sheet. So rock on with the Star Wars madness!

Beri - We do set tables aside for boardgaming during the Mini-Cons. Days of Wonder will be at the show running Battlelore demos from 12-5pm. As for Pieces of Eight, if you wanna drop in and play it with others, no worries!

Valandil - Cats is a 4 hour session.

Komradebob- You are more than welcome to bring it. Much like Pieces of Eight, I would be happy to have people there willing to share new games with people. I can't commit a table to it for a block of time, but there will be people there playing boardgames...it would be a fine thing to share with them.

My table space is pretty much at a premium. I am totally excited so many people want to pony up and run demos. That is just awesome...I just wish I had more space. So we will have to be pretty casual about the boardgaming side of things.
