Re: [RPG]: NEMESIS, reviewed by Tomb's Grave (3/4)
You mention skills (which I suppose are self explanatory) and traits. What are traits in the game? What's their function? What distinguishes them from skills and stats?
Re: [RPG]: NEMESIS, reviewed by Tomb's Grave (3/4)
good review. I'm a big fan of the ORE system, I was hooked when I read the previews of Godlike, and have DLed and bought everything using the system so far.
I'd agree that the spells section need work. I'd almost suggest using the Miracles from Godlike or Talents to build the spells, but getting some sort of official ruling from the creators on how to build spells would be nice..

Consider them like Feats in d20 or Ads/Disads for a point buy system.

Good review, though you gave the wrong URL for the Project Nemesis website. The proper site is here

It's meant as a generic horror system, but given the authors' long-standing associations with HPL and Delta Green, they do offer some guidance toward using their system for that type of world. It's not as extensive as CoC, but it's a good start.

Traits are mentioned, albeit briefly, in the first paragraph under "Magic, Monsters, and Miscelleny." They're largely subsumed by the dicey bits after that first paragraph, though...
I focused mainly on the die rolling system due to its out-of-the-ordinary nature.

Results are stated as X by Y; a (for example) 2x4 result means you've rolled two results of 4. The number of matches is the "width;" the numbers matched are the "height." Width is degree of success, while height is how fast it got done.
It seems like I've heard of a similar system before -- in Savage Worlds, perhaps?
So how do you change the difficulty of a task?
