Shannon Appelcline's Summary:

An excellent expansion to the original Ticket to Ride that introduces new variety and also balances the strategies on the USA map.

I haven't picked up this up yet, although it's on my list, if only for the full-sized train cards. In a four-player game, we typically run through the deck at least three times and having to stop to shuffle that thick deck of tiny cards always brings the momentum of the game to a grinding halt.

But I did download the 1.06 update to the PC game and I've really been enjoying the new challenge of the 1910 destination cards. I don't know if it's just because I haven't adjusted or if maybe the AI has been tweaked a bit, but where I used to regularly trounce the computer players, I now struggle to win maybe 1 out of 3 times, and even then it's close.

I'm really pleased that DoW updated the PC game so promptly. Now I just wish they'd add TtR Marklin to the mix.

I suspect Marklin's a lot harder because they need not just a new map, but also to figure out how to display passengers, and to put all the subroutines to make passengers work into the system.

Oh yeah, I know it's probably not going to happen. I haven't played Marklin, but from what I've read, it sounds like the changes are fairly extensive (while still keeping the same basic game, of course).

I was just excited to get the 1910 update to the PC game a couple of days before I spotted the new cards in my FLGS.

I've heard there were packaging problems for the expansion and the many of the tins are creased or otherwise bent (from stacking one atop the other). Has anyone seen this?
