[RPG]: Pulp Hero, reviewed by The Metal Pope (4/5)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/12/12660.phtml

Dirk Vandereyken's Summary:

Pulp Hero is, quite simply, an excellent supplement. Virtually anything one can think of is covered and the artwork is – again – of superior quality.

Excellent review, Dirk!

I'm glad to see a review of this product that gives me a better idea of how it covers pulp "super-powers"; however, I'm not sure that it really covers all things pulpy -- not unless there are dinosaurs, for example.

Oh, and I'm fairly certain that's a zeppelin on the cover.

Great review, as is its companion piece!

Whereabouts in Belgium are you based, Dirk?

Well, it does cover many different things, but dinosaurs aren't covered in-depth.

A zeppelin? Aaaaargh! Yeah, I guess it is... Should've seen that...

Thanks for the compliments.

I live in Leuven, which is about a half hour's ride from Brussels. I write for several magazines, with the main gaming 'zine being Cerberus Too (www.cerberus2.net). It's available both as a PDF and as a print publication, but only in Dutch, I'm afraid...

I should note here that S. John Ross also contributed to this book. As it turns out, it was John who wrote the section on Peculiarities of Pulpishness. I wrongly attributed this to Steven S. Long since his name is on the cover and 'Pulp Hero' itself doesn't state John did this part, as well as (in chapter six) Capturing the Feel of the Times, Principles of Pulp Adventure Design, Worthy Adversaries: Designing the Pulp Villain, Villain Nature, Villain Motive, Roleplaying the Villainous Persona and Rcurring Villains

He is credited with additional contributions on the credits page, but how the heck did you find out what parts he wrote?
