Great job, CWR!

I do have a question, though: do any factors other than rolled successes affect damage (e.g., weapon type)?

Nope! Weapons aren't even factored into the roll unless they're enchanted. If they are enchanted, then they would add some dice depending on what sort of enchantment the GM and players come up with.

In my actual play the goblins have been using pine needles as their standard weapon of choice while my player has an enchanted needle. A Fairy Godmother pricked her thumb while sewing, exclaimed "Oh, Bless It!" and a magical weapon of fairy justice sprang into existence. It gives her Sprite +1 die in combat.

Where do goblins fit into the picture? If they're not dark faeries, just what are they?

Goblins are dark faeries that continued their deplorable acts, becoming more and more twisted until they no longer resembled their old selves at all.
