The Cloudlords of Tanara is an excellent publication detailing politics, culture, environment with adventuring locations, providing great opportunities for many months, indeed even years, of gaming. Although long out of print do yourself a favour and find a copy.
Re: [RPG]: The Cloudlords of Tanara, Available as PDF from ICE
You can buy a revised version of Cloudlords in PDF format, redone with a larger font and some additional material at the ICE Online Store for $14.00. This version is 99 pages including the covers. Most of the additional page count is due to the increased font size, but there has been some additional material added by the author as well http://store.ironcrown.com/detail.js...&category=5261

Re: [RPG]: The Cloudlords of Tanara, reviewed by Lev Lafayette (4/5)
Nice succinct review of a real RPG gem!
I thought that I would mention that Terry Amthor also had two pictures in the original book, which look suspiciously similar to two popular musicians of the era (namely, 'Sting' and 'Billy Idol'). Sadly, these pictures were not included in the revised version mentioned by ob1knorrb.

This has nothing to do with anything, but what's the relation between Terry Amthor and Peter Amthor (who used to post here and is a published RPG author also)?
Other than that, great review, Lev. I'd get the pdf if it were cheaper. $14 for 99pp. is a tad stiff.

One quick question for you: you noted early on in your review that you questioned the usefulness of the Vale of Merisia. What was it about that locale that you didn't like? (I haven't read the supplement yet, I'm just curious about it in general terms.)

Oh, it's not the location as such; it's just that it was done as a full colour-coded map when that really wasn't necessary.
