An ambitious entry in the transhuman/posthuman SF genre, <i>Sufficiently Advanced</i> offers a vast setting, cinematic mechanics, and plenty of opportunities for adventure.

This sounds like a very interesting setting. I'm a fan of Transhuman Space and this definitely fills a different niche in the posthuman future with its galactic scope. I'm getting a strong Charlie Stross vibe off your description of the various human cultural groups, technology, and the Transcendentals, but that could just be me.

Thanks for the pre-review!
Glad you liked it! Stross' sci-fi work was definitely a major source for this game; the Eschaton was one of the big inspirations for my Transcendentals. The Sophotechs in John Wight's Golden Age trilogy were another.

Thank you for the review, and for your recommendations! It definitely gave me a few things to work into the book before the final version is complete. I'm glad you liked it.
I should mention that one's ability to play a Replicant will be significantly expanded in the final version. You can take Plot Immunity (Send In The Clones) and activate it to do things with your other instances, or to reveal that the person who just got killed was a spare self.

Good and comprehensive review that leaves me with one question. When can we expect to see the game in print? Failing that, where can one get a pre-release copy for unspecified favours?

Myles
Right now, I'm thinking the game will be released sometime around the end of this year. My deadline is Genericon '08 (that's Genericon, not Gencon). It'll be announced on the <a href="http://community.livejournal.com/suffadv/">development journal</a>, as well as the open promo forum here at RPG.net and elsewhere.

Colin & Stacy,
Consider me sold.
Stacy's review has me interested, and Colin's very different take on this strikes me as "Sufficiently Interesting."
While I'd love to get my hands on a review copy like Stacy did, I guess I'll have to wait for the book. I'd probably have had more fun reading and reviewing this than I did Shock: Social Science Fiction.
One other thing Colin: Are you planning on making this a print release, electronic release or both? And what sort of price are you looking at for it?
And I'll have to check the development journal from home since my employer blocks livejournal.
