Jocelyn Robitaille's Summary:

Reign is a quality game that's worth your money, above and beyond the \"company rules\" which are source of its hype.

Jocelyn, this was a phenomenal review. Well-written, informative, and fun to read. Kudos!

If anyone's curious about REIGN's setting and the way the game is growing, you can look at a wiki full of junk here.

On the question of whether any kind of 'company' rules have been done before Jocelyn, i'd say Birthright, about 15 years ago. Same idea, very different implementation (at least judging by your review).

Nahhh, it's hype The important thing is that at least you are hyping something that is unique, or at the very least innovative, about the product. What annoys me is when people hype things that aren't new and interesting.

I'm still looking for a good fantasy game myself, so I might give this one a try. It sounds interesting, and it can't be any more disappointing than the other games I've looked at before.

ORE play question

Question for the players:
How fast is it? I am going to run Star Wars using a Reign / Star ORE system, and it looks like it SHOULD run damned fast with regards to combat. Is this true?

I've use ORE in Wild Talents and Godlike. Running combat is pretty quick using it.

This may not belong here but in a separate thread in the Open forum but, what games did you consider and why did they disapoint you? I would really like to know about it.
