Mongoose Publishing - "Holy Grail" to be Revealed!
Just saw this on the Mongoose Forum:
Mongoose Publishing is currently getting ready to make an announcement this Saturday about a new RPG licence. Based on an extremely popular gaming IP, this licence will herald a new system which will be utilised for many different settings (much as RuneQuest has been used), and will feature Open Content mechanics, allowing fans of the game to produce their own material.
Set for release in early 2008, this game will enjoy a superior level of support, designed to draw gamers into a multitude of new worlds and possibilities.
You can get the full scoop at our convention, Mongoose Hall 07 or, if travelling to Swindon (in the UK) is difficult for you (!), on our forums Saturday morning.
Could this be the long-hinted-at "Holy Grail Of Gaming"?

Mongoose has their own convention now?
I imagine it takes place in this cavernous, largely empty hall that costs a fortune to get into but is really difficult to find your way around because all the signs have spelling mistakes.

Damn, when I first saw this thread I was expecting it to be a Monty Python and the Holy Grail RPG*.
*with advice on running a Holy Grail game for those who do not like the film, and special GM notes explaining what did happen to the Lady of the Lake's part.

So we're talking about another open gaming system, not a licensed setting. "An extremely popular gaming IP" - I wonder what the hell that would be? I'm completely stumped.
