Heaven & Earth is an rpg in the style of Twin Peaks or perhaps Buffy - a modern US setting where normal folks live with deeply weird secrets. Setting and rules combine to make a great rpg book with a single inexplicable flaw.

Just a note - the little review section says that Joe Scala reviewed the book, but there are two more reviews, making the total 4 not 2? Could an admin see if they can detect the issue?

CJ,
Thank you for reviewing Heaven & Earth 3E. It's always great to hear from people who are playing the game and having fun with it.
I'm sorry to hear that the lack of a map was an issue for you, though I'm glad that it didn't keep you from picking up the game If it's any consolation, the map was intended for the book, but didn't happen for reasons beyond my control. I plan on eventually releasing a map for H&E, but the timetable is up in the air. In the meantime, feel free to post your version of the map in this thread or at the Yahoo group.
Best,
Lee

IPR should receive their print shipments of Heaven & Earth, as well as other Abstract Nova products, by April 18th. They'll be available for purchase shortly thereafter.

Re: [RPG]: Heaven & Earth, Third Edition, reviewed by cj.23 (4/4)
A quick question for the Abstract Nova folks:
I've found H & E, as well as Aletheia, to be two extremely interesting and well done games. Do you guys have any other supplements planned for those lines, or perhaps something new altogether in the works? I really enjoy your stuff.
Re: [RPG]: Heaven & Earth, Third Edition, reviewed by cj.23 (4/4)
MysteryOfOse,
Thank you for the kind words and for supporting Abstract Nova.
Fred is quite correct; Paradise Lost is a supplement for H&E that's already available. It expands the setting, introducing new townsfolk, locations, wives' tales, etc without invalidating the main book. Most importantly, it is absolutely supplemental; Paradise Lost does not include any major revelations not covered in the main book.
There will eventually be more H&E support, though I honestly don't know what form it will take or the due date. However, there are definite plans in the works.
I've been considering an Aletheia campaign book, but haven't decided on anything yet.
Abstract Nova will have a new game out a Gen Con 2008. I will be making an official announcement in May/June and some free downloads for the new game will go up at www.abstractnova.com at that time.
Best,
Lee

There's a link at the side to the review of PL.
To answer the criticism from the reviewer that there's no map - in practice, I've found there's been really little need for one. Players might ask "is the hospital close to this bar we're in?" and I can say "yes, it's just a couple of streets away" or "no, it's all the way across town." I haven't found it a problem not having a map so far (though I'd buy one for myself if nothing else if one came out).
I'm really looking forward to the new game coming out later this year too. Any news on the playtest for that one, Lee?
