Just bought the PDF after reading and basically immediately falling in love with the 24 hour version.
The tone, art, and elegance of that was so pitch-perfect that I couldn't wait to get home and buy the finished version.
The finished version blew my mind. I'm blown. This is hot stuff. True, it doesn't have the savage, "Forever War meets Marathon Infinity" kicker that comes from having 16 pages, one of which says "your barge burns" and another "the final battle is on Terra". I'm willing to let that slide because against all odds this is a complete game.
Gregor, I'm considering bringing this along as a possible game to run at FanExpo in Toronto - is that something that would fly?

I pickedit up and it is really amazing. Warhammer 40k is the perfect setting for it, but we are actually using for a Dune-like game. The website talks about a possible expansion next year to flush out Psych powers, likely called "Sic".
The 24-hour version is like toxic sugar, and I love it.
But the full version absolutely works. (Whereas the system in the 24-hr version doesn't.)
Re: Toronto. It would be perfect. I reckon you'd get through two missions in a session at a con if it was people's first time playing (people just throw it down and go for the jugular). Don't plan ahead much at all, just make up two planets (and that's really just picking things from a list).
I think there is real reward from campaign play and trying to keep your characters alive over time, as you find yourself wanting them to stay alive as you grow to like them more. But, for one shots, it works fine too.
I'm totally thankful for all the kind words about the game. It really blows me away. Thanks!

From reading the recent threads I went from, "Huh" to "I gotta get it!" And boy am I glad that I did.
This game is a blast to read. So much fun is packed into the game. And I think it's perfect for my group. I'm going to see about running it this week.

Yeah, I was just reading through the equipment section and happened across "Radium Gum," which I really got a kick out of. It's radioactive gum that gives you cancer when you chew it, basically the same as "Cancer Sticks." I'll have to make sure this figures prominently in all the care packages the Troopers get. Very Paranoia-esque.
