Sexy Killer Maid Michiko: This kinda lame review covers Maid, the really awesome game of playing helpful and friendly people like me. If you want to play a comedy game with little time investment, and you happen to like anime, then I guess the review is worth reading.
Good review! Your blurb really drew me in, in a way that most don't. I needed to find out what the heck was up.
Sounds like an interesting game with the right group. I think there's about a 50/50 shot of my group accepting it, but it sounds like a fun read on its own (at least as entertaining as your review, I'd expect).
I doubt I will ever be able to find a copy of this game, but if I do spot it I'll probably pick it up for the collection of weird games, if only to find out how a game can spend so much time on advice without a more detailed background setting to back it up. Besides, I've heard a couple of rumours about Japanese style tabletop RPGs and I'd be interested to see if they're true. Doubt I'd ever play the game, but it does sound quite funny.
Thanks for the review. Still a bit nonplussed as to how you can give such a high score in style when you have several quite serious issues with the book's layout and art, but then I've never thought the scoring system here at RPG net was very intuitive, easy to use or accurate.

I find the humorous writing and presentation to be exceptional. Style, according to both the review guidelines and how I have always approached reviews, means more than just layout and art.
Thanks for that. Surprisingly, it also seems to have been recently added to the preorders section at Leisure Games, so I'll probably be able to get a copy after all Yes, I think I'll enjoy this one.

Oh I agree, but I've always thought that layout and artwork should receive equal consideration along with writing style. But as I said, I think the whole ratings system would benefit from a revamp that makes scoring a more precise and useful process.
Scores are about as useless as stars in a movie rating. They will never be precise because they are always subjective. The important thing is the review itself and "Any worthwhile review is subjective."

Definately, but the factors that the score is delivered on could be a lot clearer - style and substance are somewhat vague terms - and there are differing degrees of subjectivity and objectivity. This review, in my opinion, strikes a good balance and I certainly have no beefs with the way it is written.
