[Board/Tactical Game]: Android, reviewed by philreed (5/3)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/14/14082.phtml

Philip Reed's Summary:

Fantasy Flight's latest game is a giant, complex event with some original mechanics that should be studied by anyone interested in game design. The game drips with flavor and is something Arkham Horror fans need to try.

As an Arkham Horror fan, this game sounds very intriguing. Unfortunately, it's designed for 3-5 players so it's unlikely I'll check it out...realistically, I need games that work well with just 2 players (preferably without any "special" rules to bend the game into working with 2 players).

Playing Time

Your playing time was way high from my own (one-game) experience.

I played a first game of this last Wednesday with three other first-time players. The total playing time was somewhere in the 3.5-4 hour range including rules explanation.

We had people who played without a lot of angsting, so it could be that AP would make a big difference, but especially as we got further into the game, I felt like most moves were pretty obvious (or plannable during other peoples' turns). I'm also pretty sure that the playing time linearly scales with the number of players, so +1 player would mean +45 minutes to an hour.

I think our group often gets wrapped up in AP; we have a few players who take a little too long to make a decision.
