Detailed, thoughtful and solid review of this book. Thanks for taking the time to voice your thoughts on this book for the RPG community.

I'm very pleased with Shades of Empire... but I admit, I'm quite biased.

I second all of what Jay said. And will only point out that yes, the press described is not contemporaneous with the general feel of the early-17th century tech that fills much of the Empire, but that's because it's that little bit of steam-punk edge, ala the steam tank and the organ gun.

Because there's no point having a printing press in Warhammer if it can't EXPLODE AND KILL PEOPLE.
