The mechanism for pricing and getting goods reminds me of the classic Civilization board game: If you get N goods, you get one of each of the first N types, and the value of a set is proportional to the square of the number of goods (and increasing with the type of good).

And like in Civilization, you get more goods if you have more cities, but the mechanism is less direct and more random.

This looks like a great game and casual enough to suit my needs these days.

How would you say non-gamers would like this game?

I only run into one problem with my teaches: explaining the mechanism of how you increase your goods, since it's not quite normal. If you can get past that, I think they'll enjoy rolling the dice and doing things with them, as it's very simple to play, though there's some opportunity for strategy beyond that.
