[RPG]: Death in Luxor, reviewed by Venger Satanis (4/3)

http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/14/14216.phtml

Venger Satanis's Summary:

A decent scenario with a few major problems which, thankfully, can be rectified by a diligent Keeper of Arcane Lore.

Good review. As far as stopping the big bad, are using material components any less believable than chanting in Meroitic or somesuch?

It should be pointed out that the scenario is also lacking in Sanity losses and rewards, background on Luxor, and decent pre-generated investigators. In fact, the pre-generated investigators are terrible.

There is a solid scenario in there though, and it is a good attempt to weave the Mythos into legend and history.

Reason for "Sea People"

The thing about "Sea People" is that the name isn't arbitrary -- Egyptian texts do refer to attacks of what they term "Sea People". Historians generally assume they are referring to pirates, perhaps Homeric (Mycenaean) Greeks, but it does have a nice Mythos ring...
