It's a racist term of the period Sergio, an epithet based on skin colour, it's use today in relation to a modern Native American would definitely be considered racist (and anachronistic, admittedly).

Given the game doesn't appear to refer to Chinks, Micks, etc. (I'm not going on in the hope of minimising any offence I may cause) using this term sticks out a bit.
