Re: (Scooped??) Mongoose Runequest II early January

Any word on whether the Glorantha books will be republished or redone (besides Cults of Glorantha as mentioned in the blog post)?

I actually enjoy the combat system otherwise (reminds me of my old Elfquest game back in the day).
The biggest issue was that the single page example didn't jive with the written rules in the text, leading to all kinds of confusion, so you aren't alone. The description you got is for one of them, and the other implies that you roll the attack only once which then leaves out portions of the associated charts. Then the final "fix" was released and it still didn't totally jive with the charts.

Yeah, it's a lot like Elfquest, compared to most things. Since MRQ, BRP has been released from Chaosium which'll do exactly the combat system in Elfquest fwiw.

I for one, would welcome a new release of MRQ, especially if it includes cleaned up Glorantha books. I want the 2nd Age stuff so bad, but have held off hoping they'd get cleaned up (and corrected!) and re-released.

The original combat rules, as written in the example, actually works very well, if a bit wonky.

This game could greatly use a revised edition so I'll be snatching this one up

Actually, it does, BUT you have to read it in a certain way, often adding extra grammar to actually get it to understand. THAT'S the big issue though. The example is unclear and can be confusing to read.
