RPGs You Love Unconditionally and/or Irrationally

It could be a specific game, or maybe the entire system. Whatever.

I love Unisystem, both Classic and Cinematic. I've only played a few sessions of AFMBE and a few sessions of Witchcraft, both relatively uneventful. I still read and reread the books, regardless. I have every book and I'm collecting the pdfs. I'd trade/sell anything else on my shelf, but never could I trade/sell my Uni stuff. I could go on, but I won't.

What is your irrational and/or unconditional love for in rpgs?

I'm with you Lord Apathy on the Unisystem front. I buy everything Unisystem.

I would also like to add TORG. It was the first non TSR RPG I played and I loved it. I bought every book made for the game. I will even admit that a lot of the books were crap but I still love the game. My greatest dream is to run every adventure published for the game from beginning to end in a masive campain. Even the much hated Wars End though I'll likely rewrite it so it dosen't suck.

In descending order, with the first one being the greatest, Exalted 2e, Ars Magica 5e, and Changeling: the Lost.

At one point, D&D 3.5, but I've since drifted away from even caring about the game, much less loving it unconditionally.

Re: RPGs You Love Unconditionally and/or Irrationally

I love Cinematic Unisystem a lot, but since all the products I've bought have been of very high quality, I'm not sure that qualifies as unconditional or irrational.

I had a long-standing love affair with Villains & Vigilantes, despite all of its flaws. And I still find that there is a great deal of charm to be found in the Palladium games despite their many warts.

Mage the Awakening and Shadowrun.

No matter what problems I can find with them, there's some impossible-to-grab idea that I love and cannot escape.

Re: RPGs You Love Unconditionally and/or Irrationally

For a long time it was Exalted 2e, but I'm drifting away from it due to some bad experiences with the rules. I still love the setting and I owe the writers a great debt for pouring many, many, many campaign ideas into my head through their work (I also like a good portion of the art, even if some of it rubs me the wrong way). If they ever use a lighter and more manageable ruleset for Exalted, I'd probably gobble it up in an instant. Though the concepts of dynamic DVs and ticks still have an odd charm about them, so I'd hope they could still incorporate them.

Right now I'm kind of in-between games/systems. 4e I have a rocky relationship with, and while I play and like Dark Heresy, I'm not the biggest 40k fan out there.

Overall, my most favorite RPG experiences come from nWoD Mage. I also like the ST system in general.

Nobilis, and Planescape. I can spare some unconditional but very critical love for Exalted, too.

Mutants and Masterminds 2e comes closest for me

Now, I haven't seen Hero System 6e, but it might come close as well. Based upon the previews, they seem to have addressed several of my complaints (although, I am not happy about what was done with Elemental Controls. Imo, they should have just stressed it to be used for what it was, originally, intended (i.e. characters like Storm, Iceman, and Invisible Woman) and not werewolf powers, kryptonian powers, etc.
